Welcome to Career Artistry, my private career coaching and training practice. My experience as a career coach and counselor has taught me that career planning and development is both an art and a science. There is no one perfect career system or method to finding a job. Different systems work for different people and different industries. Creativity, curiosity, and a desire to find your passion are key ingredients in finding a fulfilling career. At the same time, practical factors like family, geographic location and education play an important role in determining where your career may go.
Drawing on visual thinking exercises, research in positive psychology and appreciative inquiry and the latest techniques for finding employment, I help my clients develop their career visions, set goals and objectives, identify the steps to get to their goals, and celebrate their successes.
I am available for training, consulting, and writing services, primarily to groups. I write training guides which can be used with professional, paraprofessional, and student workers. I specialize in creating webinars that are lively and interesting, and create a useful professional development experience.
My training topics have included:
- Using the Wise Wanderings System with College Students
- Applying the Wise Wanderings System to Mid-Career and Transitioning Adults
- Applying Positive Psychology to Career Coaching
- Using Appreciative Inquiry in College Career Services
- Creating a Reasonable Work/Life Balance
- Career Marketing for Lawyers
- Using Visual Thinking Exercises to Empower Your Clients
- Closing the Gap Between Academic and Career Advising
Recent clients have included:
The University of Illinois; the University of North Carolina; the Community College System of California; Indiana University; the University of Virginia; the University of Florida; Temple University, Vanderbilt University; and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
My fee for services varies depending on the length of time it takes me to travel to and from your location as well as the length of training you want me to provide. My availability for travel is limited due to my full-time employment; you can save money by requesting web-based training. I do not have a private practice for individual clients at the present time.
